Access is an outpatient behavioral health clinic. We serve people of all communities and currently offer two locations in Boise and in Nampa. Our desire is to help improve the quality of daily life for our clients.

Rixa Rivera Sandoval is a passionate and dedicated behavioral health professional with a heart for helping others. As the Clinic Manager and Director of the Domestic Violence Intervention Program at Access Behavioral Health Services, she works hard to create a supportive, client-centered environment while ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Fluent in Spanish and with over a decade of customer service experience, Rixa is known for her strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and ability to connect with people. She thrives in staff supervision, conflict resolution, and program development, always making sure clients and team members feel heard and supported.

Her background in both behavioral health and banking gives her a unique edge—she’s not just about counseling and compliance but also understands structure, efficiency, and getting real results. She’s passionate about mentoring others, advocating for those facing tough situations, and building strong partnerships within the community.

At the end of the day, Rixa’s mission is simple: to empower individuals, create positive change, and make a real difference in people’s lives.

Cara Ruiz is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters of Counseling degree in Mental Health from Idaho State University. Her experience is with a diverse array of populations. Cara’s approach stems from a Mindfulness-Based and Cognitive Behavioral therapy with consideration of systemic and humanistic factors. She focuses on helping clients define their self-concept through a semi-directive, mindful, CT focused, honest, and goal oriented style.

Cara is passionate about overcoming personal traumas, healing, boundary setting, effective communication, and promoting higher levels of life satisfaction. She believes that upholding a judgement free, supportive, and encouraging atmosphere.

LPC Access Behavioral HealthClinic

Meet Cara Ruiz, LPC, a dedicated mental health counselor with a passion for guiding individuals through life’s challenges. With a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and specializations in stage of life changes, anxiety, trauma, pregnancy, and postpartum care, Cara brings expertise and empathy to every session.

Cara is committed to her clients’ well-being, pursuing certifications in LCPC, PMH-C, and EMDR to enhance her therapeutic toolkit. She takes a client-driven approach, drawing from modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and person-centered therapy (PCT) to empower her clients towards peace and fulfillment.

Based in Boise, Idaho, Cara graduated from Idaho State University and finds joy in Idaho’s outdoor beauty. Whether she’s hiking Table Rock or floating the Boise River, Cara embraces the healing power of nature.

Cara welcomes clients aged 14 and above, offering both in-person sessions and telehealth video appointments. Since 2021, she has been dedicated to providing accessible behavioral health services, walking alongside her clients on their journey to healing and growth.
