Access is an outpatient behavioral health clinic. We serve people of all communities and currently offer two locations in Boise and in Nampa. Our desire is to help improve the quality of daily life for our clients.

Marisa Nardiello is a dedicated counselor with five years of experience working with vulnerable populations, including veterans, individuals with substance use disorders, those struggling with opioid dependency, individuals at high risk of suicide, and homeless families. She specializes in conducting assessments, individual counseling, group therapy, risk assessments, and case management within specialized clinical settings and in collaboration with individuals and families.

Originally from New York, Marisa is passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based care to those in need. She is committed to ongoing professional development, completing annual continuing education to stay current with best practices in the field. As a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) and Registered Supervisor, she brings expertise in addiction recovery and mental health support.

Outside of her work, Marisa has a deep love for dogs and enjoys spending time with them whenever she can.

Introducing Anabel Navarro, LCPC

Anabel Navarro serves as both a Mental Health Therapist and Clinical Supervisor at Access Behavioral Health. With a commitment to providing inclusive and effective therapy, Anabel works with individuals from diverse backgrounds, utilizing various therapeutic modalities, including EMDR.

In addition to her therapy work, Anabel provides clinical supervision oversight to the community-based rehabilitation services and case management departments. She prioritizes creating a safe and supportive space for LGBTQAI+ and BIPOC communities, ensuring that all individuals receive the care and respect they deserve.

Outside of her professional life, Anabel enjoys family-focused activities, running, and mountain biking. She is particularly passionate about her French Bulldog, who brings joy and companionship to her life.

Anabel holds a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling and has been an integral part of Access Behavioral Health since 2010. Her dedication to her clients and her commitment to fostering a supportive environment make her an invaluable member of our team.

Desteni Neilson is a compassionate and client-centered Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work (Advanced Standing). With over 4.5 years at Access Behavioral Health Services, she is dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s transitions and challenges with dignity, respect, and evidence-based care.

Desteni believes that every client has the potential for change and growth when there is a desire to do so. She recognizes that each individual is unique and learns in different ways, emphasizing that clients are the true experts of their own lives. Her therapeutic approach is solution-focused, integrating Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Feminist Theory, and Family Systems Theory, tailored to each client’s specific needs.

She specializes in working with adults (18+), particularly those facing major life changes such as moving out for the first time, divorce, grief and loss, and retirement. She has extensive experience supporting individuals with mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, and body image concerns, as well as those seeking to build self-confidence and self-acceptance. Desteni is passionate about providing gender, sexuality, and identity-affirming care and loves working with clients in the LGBTQ+ community.

Her practice is rooted in creating a safe, inclusive, and judgment-free space for all individuals, regardless of race, sexuality, identity, religion, or income level. She remains committed to professional growth through ongoing continuing education to provide the best possible care to her clients.
